Bridge

Okay, so Diva didn't like the bridge that had connected the docks and the rest of Edloe Island.

Easy enough to tear down, but what would take its place?

Diva flew over to Woodbridge and showed me one of Dedric's amazing bridges (Wooden bridges on Woodbridge? Cool!) and said that was the kind she'd love to see there, lower over the water.

Okay, that means not only copying the design, but also breaking it in half and setting up a drawbridge script.

Copying general designs isn't all that hard to do if you put your mind to it. If you can't see the actual numbers and angles for a linked item, just whip out some prims, get approximate sizes, build up a model, etc. Then link 'em up, drag it over to the new place, drop it into place and texture it.

So, I fired up some building music and sent Cee out to do some building.

She also terraformed out a bit of the land to get the bridge at the right level.

When she was done I dragged out Raz's door script, dropped it into the counterbalances, and...

The bridge operates on a click-to-open trigger, but I'm working on a pair of phantom prims over the water that will tell the bridge to temporarily raise or turn phantom for passing ships.

Or, to save me the trouble, anybody have a script that does that already, or a modifyable bridge I can reverse-engineer.

Thanks to Dedric Mauriac of Woodbridge for not minding my... um... homage to his lovely bridges. His shop has many good things every avatar and builder need, plus a wind-up key just like mine!

I am a little behind. The wooden bridge that I sell can be modified and copied. Let me know if you are interested.
