Thanks

This is the post where I thank everyone for their patience, assistance, support, and unquestioning loyalty in the birth of the Edloe Island Project.

Dee Linden for cutting through the red tape, keeping me up to date with the project's progress despite problems with the Support interface, and burning the candle at both ends to ensure that we didn't have a DOA with the system. (Can I send y'all a photo of Edloe to stick on the server's case? What about a glass tube containing one of her whiskers?)

Hope Clary, Daphne Abernathy, Will Pitre, Jane2 McMahon, Rocky Torok, Razzap Schnookums, Buffyboo Graves, Chel Pixie, Caleb Bullen, Ri An, Gomem DeSoto (not Gomema) for their infinite patience and trust in me for helping get this all negotiated, planned out, and implemented. I have faith in this group to work things out when the going gets tough and the drama tries to wash up on our shores.

Ospurt and JP and Capt Platty for not just being good sports as our IMs fill up during the beach gatherings, and hopefully they'll jump on The Edloe Train in the future.

Radar Masukami and Chugabug Goodnight for their perspective on privacy, sim management, and life in general.

Madison Carnot, Dedric Mauriac, Korii Tiger, Yxes Delacriox, Banana Stein, and Jack Pitts jumped in to lend advice and assistance and ideas at critical times that is greatly appreciated and confirms the wisdom of our collective decision to expand what Stuart Warf is dubbing Podcontinent.

Tamara Kirshner for fulfilling her ninja-like Strumptery skills when needed and inspiring a possible multi-sim waterway-and-bridges project.

Among others who hopped in, Dario Darrow and Stuart Warf jumped in to help immensely and heroically with parcels, textures, teleportals, and terraforming.

Cylindrian Rutabaga, Louis Volare (and Luigi), The Blues Preacher, Hali Heron, and others for their music while I was building the tower. No, they weren't performing on the island at the time... that would have lagged the sim, silly. I was playing their music on Winamp through my huge list of venue streams and library of good tunes.

I cannot forget the valuable experience I have picked up in my time renting from the islands run by the infinitely patient and generous Podcast Pickles, Andrea Humphrey, MB Darrow, Britney Mason, Itazura Radio, and Bryon Curtis. I've kept extensive notes on how y'all run things, what people thought were good, what they found frustrating, and formed the framework for Edloe based on those experiences. I owe y'all credit for being the inspiration for this

If there's anyone I've forgotten, I am truly, deeply sorry for forgetting their involvement in this whole thing, and I beg of them forgiveness for the oversight. Please IM me so I can express my regrets "in person" and so I can heap your due praise upon you.

Now if you'll excuse me...

Got to pick a texture for the clocktower.

My Big Mistakes:
Planning on 78x78 parcel sizes with 11 meters of water when 20 meters of water and 72x72 parcels made more sense.

Not setting the whole land flat and barely a meter out of the water to begin with.

Setting guideposts that were a meter too high.

If I've made other big mistakes, I'd like to hear them so I can learn from them and others can as well.
